Sputnik ceiling light is perfect if you like ceiling lamps with many arms but you are bored by the classic chandeliers. The original light bulb design is available in several versions: as a table lamp, standing lamp or as a pendant lamp. It is a creation of the Austrian designer Henrik Klug in honor of the artificial satellite Sputnik that the Soviet Union sent to space in 1957. They became the preferred lamps of most salons of the time.
Sputnik ceiling light have been manufactured in all kinds of materials: metals, iron, bronze, copper, brass, glass … Due to its sculptural form it is not advisable to mix it with other types of lamps, nor is it recommended for low ceilings. It is also not advisable for environments with a too ornate decoration, they are more appropriate for rooms that need a personality bonus. Even when they are off, these lamps look like a sculpture attached to the ceiling.
